"BIGHEAD"
We have bitten the bullet on this one and invested heavily in re-introducing the spectacular 'Bighead' fitted on the 500 Bullets from 1959 - 1963. This is an all English made product manufactured to a high quality using the original factory drawings. It is available in the standard bighead form or with the massive inlet port to suit the 1.5'' Grand-Prix carburetter fitted on the Fury.
These heads have many design advantages over the conventional heads including semi downdraft carburetter, rockers running on fixed spindles, 80 degree valve angles, superior valve and spring design with large inlet valve which all help to give an instant improved performance gain. With its large fins and overall shape, it will enhance the look of the Bullet engine dramatically.

These heads are supplied complete with fitted valve guides and valve seats but to convert the Indian made Bullets, you will need the standard bighead along with the fixing kit which comprises of everything needed to convert including valves, springs, rockers, covers, studs, gaskets, oil feed pipe, head steady and pushrods etc. Please Note: The standard Indian tank will need some modification to the underside to give the required clearance.

Note: NOT suitable for the Electra (X) or Electra EFI, Thunderbird and Classic EFI.

COMPOSITE HEAD GASKETS
The 500cc gaskets have been especially made for us in America and are made out of a vastly improved modern composite material. They have been developed and tested by us in competition and on the road and have proved to be excellent when used with or without sealant. Suitable for 500cc, 535cc Bullets and 612cc conversions etc.
The 350 gasket is the latest development from the Indian factory and has also been tested with excellent results.

HEAD NUTS WITH ALLEN HEAD
These are the internal cylinder head nuts, made in England using a superior EN8 material. They have the added benefit of having a cap head so that you have the option of tightening with a spanner or Allen key.

HEAD STUDS WITH SQUARE END
These English made cylinder head studs are manufactured out of EN8 and have a square machined onto the top. These are easily removed with a 1/4'' T handle or socket set extension whilst the cylinder head is still in place. This then allows the cylinder head to be removed easily.

TITANIUM VALVE KIT (500cc & 535cc)
These titanium valves have been designed for competition use. The inlet has an improved profile and head diameter of 1.875'' and weighs 52g (the original is 84g). The exhaust weighs 44g (half the originals 88g). They are finished in a low friction, wear resistant coating. The kit is completed with copper beryllium valve seats, phosphor bronze valve guides, a superior design of spring arrangement, alloy top collars, bottom collars and split collets.

VALVE GUIDE SEALS
These can be fitted to any of the classic engine Bullets (Redditch or Indian made) to ease oil consumption.

Note: They can only be used with the standard camshafts.

DECOMPRESSOR BLANKING PLUG
This plug has been designed to blank off the threaded hole and corresponding opening in the exhaust port for those of you wishing to remove the decompressor. It is supplied with the sealing washers.

CYLINDER HEAD WASHERS
These hardened washers are made in our own workshops. They are 2.5mm thick and have the best diameter possible to fit underneath the 6 cylinder head nuts. The standard washers are too thin and soft and get crushed on to the cylinder head stud making the head difficult to remove. Sold as a set of 6.

CYLINDER HEAD (TUNED)
We start with a brand new late model Indian made head (these use the hardened valve seats). We reshape and gas flow to a 32mm (28mm on the 350cc) inlet port and fit English made phosphor bronze valve guides. On the 500/535 the valves are specially improved pulsed plasma nitride treated with a larger 1.875'' inlet. The valves are specially profiled for better gas flow. The 350 and 500/535 come complete with a superior design of spring arrangement, including alloy top collars, and improved split collets. Comes ready assembled.

SOLID COPPER HEAD GASKETS
These gaskets are available in the std 1mm thickness or a thinner 0.5mm which will raise the compression ratio. Being solid copper they can be annealed and reused. Care must be taken when fitting the 0.5mm head gasket that the spigot on the cylinder barrel is reduced accordingly.

Note: We would suggest that you always use a sealant on the head gasket, we use Wellseal (see the Tools and Sealants section of this catalogue).

ROCKERSET
These use a premium grade light alloy for the bearing blocks, with the added advantage of being doweled for perfect alignment and machined for "O" rings to ensure maximum oil supply. The rocker arms are a slim design that reduces the reciprocating mass. This in turn reduces wear on the cam gear and tappets.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The rockers we sell are not the standard Samrat items but have been specially supplied to higher tolerances exclusively for Hitchcocks. Additionally each set is checked and finished in the UK to meet our stringent quality control. If purchasing these from your local dealer, you need to find out whether they have been obtained through Hitchcocks to ensure that they been subject to our quality checks and are not the standard Samrat items.

VALVE SPRINGS
These springs have been designed to help prevent valve bounce at higher revs for standard engines. They also allow the use of higher lift cams without getting coil-bound. Made in England.

Suitable for both the 350cc and 500cc Bullets.

These valves are slimmer in design than the standard items and have hardened ends to remove the need for the standard valve caps. The reduced weight and reduced friction, coupled with the superior spring arrangement and alloy top collars allow the engine to rev more freely. The kit comprises of valves, springs, guides, collars and collets.

Suitable for all 350c Bullets from 1955.
