Rare Royal Enfield book Reprint!

8th August, 2011

Peter Hartley's superb book, 'The Story of Royal Enfield Motor Cycles', has been out of print for many years. Secondhand copies have sold on Amazon for over £100! The book is one of the most respected and reliable histories of the marque, covering a vast range of models, with many fascinating period photos. In my view this is the finest available study of Royal Enfield history, development and progress, from the founding of the factory through to its demise.

The pages on the 1950's trials successes of Royal Enfield's finest off-road rider, Johnny Brittain, one of the greatest trials riders the UK has ever produced, are alone almost worth the price of the book! Peter Hartley is to be congratulated on giving this superb rider the recognition he so richly deserves, describing his magnificent winning ride in the 1957 Scottish Six Days' Trial as 'the greatest-ever in the 'Scottish' including that of the great Sammy Miller.'

In the course of twelve well-written chapters the book takes us from 1700 through to 1980. This long-awaited reprint is a well produced hardback book - and a fine addition to the classic motorcyclist's bookshelf! 'This is a story which nobody interested in the great days of British motor cycling will want to miss.'

Ref: BOOK19 - available now for £19.95 plus postage.

We also have available a remarkable DVD documentary of interviews and memories of Johnny Brittain - ref: 97010 at £11.95 plus postage and VAT.
