Hitchcocks Duck Bill breather and other breather tubes

We offer a range of breather tubing for Royal Enfields, which can also be used on other makes of motorcycle.

Les Howard, a Royal Enfield owner/enthusiast and regular contributor to this message forum (Les H), recently posted some advice on the Norton Owner's Club website regarding the use of our breather tubing. Read his original post about this: http://www.nortonownersclub.org/noc-chat/technical2-heavy-twins-forum/850100055#31715124

Peter Bolton from the Norton Owners Club sent us some pictures of how he followed Les Howard's advice and adapted our duck bill breather pipe for his 1962 Norton ES2. He had noticed that after a run there was always a telltale drip on the floor from the rear of the chain guard indicating perhaps a bit too much oil being blown out of the crankcase.  The standard breather pipe on the ES2 is readily accessible and is literally just a piece of tube connected to the rear of the crankcase on the drive side with its open end discharging on to the drive chain. He found it easy to push the ducks bill over the end of the breather tube after cutting off about 2” so that the bill end of the breather did not touch the drive chain. Finally the rubber tubing was secured to the pipe with 3 small tie wraps to aid in sealing and security of fixing and the whole thing bolted up to the crankcase breather union (See photos).
