Yatton Keynell Scramble
May 31st saw our 2nd scramble of the year which incorporated the first round of the British Championship. Our new rider David Dunn rode in both the Pre-60 and the British Championship rounds using number 860.
Race 1 was the championship where we are up against very competitive and more modern machinery, The Enfield was the first Pre-60 bike to cross the line but finished about 7th or 8th overall having a great tussle with Dave Bell riding his Jawa Metisse. Unfortunately in the 2nd championship race, a loose wire stopped our race on the first lap.
In the 1st Pre-60 race David on the Enfield again had a great race with Dave Bell, (this time riding his 650cc Tri/BSA) and finishing in 2nd place. In the 2nd race, David managed a 3rd.
Remembering that this was only David's 2nd scramble on a British bike, the results were pleasing. We are looking forward to the Bike Bonanza on Sunday 28th June near Stroud in Gloucestershire where we should have both Enfields in action.
